Maximizing Blog Exposure with Social Media Scheduling

There have been a lot of great advances over the last few years in social media management and reporting. In this blog we are going to take a quick look on how you can leverage reporting and social media management tools to help maximize the audience being exposed to your content specifically on Twitter.

For small business owners and marketers there's a very good chance that you have posted some type of link for a blog on Twitter. However, at any one given time there are only a small percentage (around 7-8%) of your twitter followers online. So don't be afraid to tweet out the blog multiple times (with varying tweets) because the likelihood that the same person would see the same link twice is slim.

We recently became Hootsuite PRO Solutions Partners and exclusively use their social media management platform. They have a really great scheduling and bulk scheduling system that will allow you to really easily schedule out posts across multiple networks.

Scheduling is also very helpful for people who like to complete blog writing late at night. There's a good chance that if you finish a blog post at 1AM and tweet it out, it will get a very small response. However, if you tweet it out at 1AM then again at 9AM, 12PM and 3PM it could really get some great exposure and will most likely have much higher views.

But what is the best time to send out tweets? For this we now turn to our reports which for twitter we use Followerwonk. They offer some pretty detailed reports to track and learn about your twitter followers in order to better connect with them. Here we see that the top three times our followers are online are: 9AM, 12PM and 3PM.

This now gives me some really great analytical insight into when the optimal times to tweet out our content because the most number of twitter followers are logged in and thus the more likely to see our content.

Using scheduling and reporting together has really helped us increase the twitter referral traffic to our blogs and thus increase blog views. After all, if you're taking the time to write a detailed and educational blog post, why not work to maximize its exposure and reach? The more people viewing your content, the more you can build your authority and help increase your leads.
